Weekend train rides return to the California State Railroad Museum

A popular attraction is back starting Saturday in Sacramento – the California State Railroad Museum is once again hosting weekend train rides. There are five trains a day, starting at 10:00 a.m. running every 90 minutes until 4:00 p.m. People can ride in open-air gondolas with bench seats or in enclosed, padded coaches. It is a journey of 10 km and 50 minutes. Officials say people who go there will get an authentic and historic train experience. “Everything we farm and operate is vintage from the 1920s or up to the 1950s and is preserved as it would have been in that era,” said Tim Schroepfer, CEO. from the California State Railroad Museum Foundation. People can also visit the museum while taking a train ride. “Come to the museum, you will learn more about history, you can look into the past and imagine your future, then come and ride the railway, have a wonderful time with your family and feel, hear and smell what it’s like. was only for passengers in their 20s, 30s and 40s on a railroad,” Schroepfer said.
