The California State Fair returns on Friday. Here is a complete guide.


SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KTXL) — The California State Fair returns to Sacramento after two years of pandemic-related closures and cancellations.

The iconic festival attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors each year, bringing over $150 million for Sacramento’s economy.

For residents across the state, the fair is a staple of California summer life, where they can enjoy food, cattle competitions, horse races, talent shows and more.

Here’s everything you need to know to get the most out of your State Fair experience.

The main gate is located at Exposition Boulevard and Heritage Way.

Unlimited Ride Wristband: $37 (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday)

Unlimited Ride Wristband: $42 (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)

Adult daily admission: $14

Senior daily admission: $12 (62 and over)

Car park:

State Fair parking: $15

General parking (events and shows): $10

Parking for concerts: $15

Cash and credit cards are the accepted methods of payment, depending on the Cal Expo website.

Main gate opening hours:

Monday-Thursday: 11am-10pm

Friday-Sunday: 10am-10pm

Green door opening hours:

Monday to Thursday: 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Friday to Sunday: 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Carnival times:

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: Opens at 2 p.m.

Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday: Opens at 11 a.m.

Children’s park opening hours:

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: Opens at 1 p.m.

Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday: Opens at 11 a.m.


Visitors also have the opportunity to catch live performances during the Toyota Concert Series on the Golden Stage 1. All concerts are included in the general admission price of $15, with the exception of the music “Quebradita Time”.
