California State Parks to Host Live Stream Honoring Architect Julia Morgan

Hearst Castle and Asilomar State Beach and Conference Grounds are just two of Julia Morgan’s many projects and showcase her wide range of architectural styles.

Livestream will honor California’s first female licensed architect, Julia Morgan, on her 150th birthday

– Thursday, January 20 marks the 150th birthday of Julia Morgan, a gold medal-winning architect from the American Institute of Architects, who designed more than 700 projects throughout her career. Hearst San Simeon State Historical Monument, commonly known as Hearst Castle, and Asilomar State Beach and Conference Grounds are just two of Julia Morgan’s many projects and showcase her wide range of architectural styles. To honor and celebrate his accomplishments, the staff of Hearst San Simeon State Historical Monument and Asilomar State Beach and Conference Grounds is offering a free digital anniversary celebration.
