Visual Studio 2015 System Requirements – Before you plan to deploy visual studio 2015 in your setup, go through the system requirements listed here.

Deployment Info – I have tested the deployment of visual studio using SCCM in my lab setup. I have tested install and uninstall of both enterprise and professional versions of visual studio 2015. Note that when deployed to Windows 7 machine, a restart is required to start the app. This is not the case when you deploy it to Windows 10. I have also noticed that when you uninstall Visual Studio, it uninstalls silverlight as well.

Download Info – You can download visual studio from either MSDN or download web installer from visual studio downloads page. Microsoft also allows creating an offline installation of visual studio and the same is documented here. Once you download the files, copy it to the Source folder on SCCM server. In this post we will use visual studio 2015 pro version for deployment.

Note – AdminDeployment.xml file should be modified to deploy VS 2015 in unattended mode. First of all use the /CreateAdminFile command line parameter to create the xml file. While this is not covered in this post, more information can be found here.
