ConfigMgr 2210 Technical Preview New Features & Installation
In this article, we will explore the new features of the ConfigMgr 2210 Technical Preview. We’ll also look at the steps for installing the Configuration Manager technical preview version 2210.
On October 19, 2022, Microsoft released the technical preview of ConfigMgr 2210, which includes many new features. Once a month, the technical preview versions are typically released, and each one comes with updated features. Check out all the installation guides and build numbers of all technical preview releases done so far.
The ConfigMgr technical preview 2210 is a baseline version. A baseline media includes all the setup files required to install SCCM or Configuration Manager. If you want to install Configuration Manager from scratch, then baseline install media is what you need.
The technical preview versions must never be installed in a working environment. That’s because technical preview versions are meant only for test environments. Furthermore, each technical preview version is only active for 90 days before expiring.
The SCCM TP version 2210 is the tenth technical preview release of the year 2022. The two previous technical preview releases were TP 2209 and TP 2208. Before the year 2022 is over, we can expect to see two more technical preview releases, versions 2211 and 2212.

SCCM Technical Preview 2210 New Features
The ConfigMgr 2210 Technical Preview version comes with just one new feature which is “Featured Apps in Software Center“. Let’s explore this new feature and understand what it does.
Featured Apps in Software Center
In ConfigMgr Technical preview 2210 release, a new feature has been added which is known as Featured tab in Software Center for displaying featured apps. With the new tab, IT admin can mark apps as “featured” and encourage end users to use these apps. Currently, this feature is available only for “User Available” apps. Furthermore, admins can make the Featured tab of Software Center as default the tab from Client Settings.
If an app is marked as Featured, and it’s deployed to a User Collection as an Available app, it will show under the Featured pivot in Software Center.
